Description/Eligibility/Service Details

Description Peel Youth Village is a mixed-use development incorporating both a residential program and a community centre. 
The residential program is for youth in Peel who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness. 
The community centre serves residents, and the surrounding neighbourhood, through interactive recreation activities and programming, including a basketball half-court. 
 
The residential program offers semi-independent transitional housing with an emphasis on life skills programs.There are 48 private rooms, organized into "houses" which consist of four one-bedroom units that feature shared bathrooms, kitchens and lounge. 
 
The residential program involves both individual and group work on life skills. Programs include, but are not limited to: budgeting, effective communication, conflict resolution, goal setting, time management, healthy relationships/sexuality, cooking and nutrition, body image and self-esteem, art and recreation. The objective is to assist residents in attaining the life skills required to live and thrive independently within the community.
