Description/Eligibility/Service Details
| Description | Midwifery practice offering prenatal, intrapartum and post partum care to 6 weeks, plus newborn care to 6 weeks. Service includes home visits routinely in post-partum and prenatally as required. Special focus on providing care to vulnerable populations: refugees, new immigrants, teenagers, and women in other difficult life situations. Majority of caseload space reserved for this population. East Mississauga midwives have admitting privileges at Trillium Health Partners Mississauga Site. They have excellent relationships with the highly skilled obstetricians, pediatricians and nurses at the hospital and will consult with them if problems arise. With the help of their midwives, their clients decide whether to have their babies at Trillium or at home. |

Boundaries defined as Mavis Road to the west, Kipling Avenue to the east, Steeles Avenue (Mississauga) and Rathburn Road (Etobicoke) in the north and to Lake Ontario in the south. Some exceptions may be made for those living outside the catchment area. |
| Eligibility | Pregnant women living in or near catchment area; priority given to vulnerable populations. Must be assessed by midwives as having low risk pregnancies. Women and their babies up to 6 weeks after birth * proof of Ontario residency |
