Description/Eligibility/Service Details

Description A community resource providing support to anyone affected by a relative or friend’s drinking  
 
A Twelve Step mutual support group resource with member facilitated meetings for adults and teens affected by a relative or friend's addiction or use of alcohol. Al-Anon, which includes Alateen for teenagers, is a separate entity from Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).  
 
Al-Anon 
 
•non-professional, self-supporting, spiritually based, apolitical 
•members share as peers how they apply the Al-Anon/Alateen program to their lives to solve common problems  
•based on the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions adapted from AA  
 
 
Alateen:  
 
•part of the Al-Anon Fellowship designed for younger relatives and friends, up to age 18, of alcoholics  
•follows the same Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions, and principles as Al-Anon  
•members conduct their own meetings with the guidance of a certified adult Al-Anon member who is the Alateen Group Sponsor  
•members focus on sharing and learning effective ways to cope with their common problems and challenges as a result of being affected by someone's drinking.

Tue 8 pm, St. Jude's Anglican Church, 1000 Central Park Dr (rear door entrance) (private meeting online) 
Fri 7pm, St Paul's Presbyterian Church, 723 Balmoral Dr (Zoom meeting)
